2015 is now drawing to a close and we at Colnesett will sit back over the Christmas break and reflect on a year that has been our most successful to date.
At the end of last year we had begun talks with MLM Consulting Engineers regarding their proposed move to new offices in Felaw Maltings in Ipswich. They took three floors plus part of the Ground Floor and we were honoured to be given the opportunity of fitting out the 1,500 square metre facility. We worked very closely with their in-house consultants as well as some brought-in industry professionals. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Barefoot and Gilles (Architects), Castons (Quantity Surveyors), P M Goonan (Project Managers) and Wylde Interior Architecture (Interior Designer). This was a multi-disciplined fit-out consisting of new partitions with very high acoustic values, ceilings, new lighting and power, flooring and decorations amongst others. The contract was valued at just under £500,000 and was carried out over a period of twelve working weeks. You can view a glowing reference received from our client elsewhere on our website. This was, without doubt, our flagship project of 2015.
MLM, of course, were not our only customer, nor were they our only new client of the year. We are extremely grateful to Aldeburgh Yacht Club for placing their trust in us to refurbish their male and female changing rooms. We partnered with a number of different contractors and suppliers to provide new cubicles for showers and toilets, benching, new lighting some small power and new ventilation and new flooring.
One of our valued repeat customers made contact in March as they needed part of their own headquarters re-configuring and an entire department re-located to another premises. As is always the case we are extremely grateful for the opportunities afforded us by the Caring Homes Group.
During the last quarter of the year we have partnered with two new clients. Navigation Property Marketing Suite Services contacted us to fit-out a couple of their marketing suites for major housebuilder, Taylor Wimpey. These included dry lining with taping and jointing to ceilings and walls, new partitions, plumbing, joinery and decorating. We are now receiving further enquiries from Navigation, as we call them for short, for projects scheduled for the new year.
As the year ends we are working with the Eastern Division of Kier Construction. Kier recently completed a block of flats for the Christian Action Housing Association at Unity Place in Walthamstow and were left with the fitting out of the management facilities after the project had been completed so called us in to carry out these works which included the total fit-out of their office, toilet facilities, welfare and reception areas. This was another multi-disciplined project consisting of lining walls, new partitions, suspended ceilings, mechanical and electrical installations and new flooring.
We look forward to the opportunity of working with all our clients and establishing some new contacts during the forthcoming year.
As the Yule Festival approaches our thoughts are changing from the office desk to the fireside and seasonal fare. We would like to take this opportunity of wishing a Merry Christmas and an extremely prosperous New Year to all our customers, professional partners, employees, suppliers and sub-contractors and look forward to seeing you all again in 2016.
