About Us

Bill Tarbotton and Robert Taylor first met one another when they worked as the Contracts Manager and Quantity Surveyor for a previous employer. They first discussed starting their own business doing commercial fit outs in late February 2010 and, from time to time, would revisit this idea. Come the end of summer 2012 their mind was made up and they began to plan the start of Colnesett Limited.

From our original premises at Stone Street Court in Hadleigh, Suffolk, we started to trade in March 2013 and have seen the company go from strength to strength, gradually growing the organically so that during the current financial year we will exceed two million pounds turnover.

During this period Colnesett has attracted many well-known clients for office refurbishments, shop fit-outs, building project management and more, including, MLM Consulting Engineers, Caring Homes Group, Savills, Elwell Taylor, Kier and Aldeburgh Yacht Club amongst many others. Apologies are sent to those that have not been listed.

We have carried out work as far afield as Oxfordshire and the South Coast, but are at our most competitive throughout East Anglia, the Northern Home Counties and into London. We have built a strong list of sub-contractors from many trades meaning that we are now able to offer a truly complete main contractor service. We are always looking out for talented and highly skilled tradespeople to add to our Sub-Contractor Approved List.

During 2021 Colnesett promises to be expanding the business further and upskilling members of staff. We’ve taken on new project managers, added new services to our offering and have just launched a brand new website that is befitting of an ambitious construction firm in 2021. There are some exciting plans that will be slowly publicised as the year progresses.
